Just had another one of those sales calls. I normally hang up. And this is why
Caller: Can I speak to Mr Richard please? Mr Richard Gline?
(It’s Glynn – pronounced ‘Glin’. GLYNN!)
Me: Speaking
Caller: I’d like to send you some information. Please could I have your email address?
Me: What is the information about?
Caller: I just need to send it to you so you can see?
Me: But what is it about?
Caller: It is about investment opportunities in bonds and currencies.
Me: I have no interest in investing in bonds or currencies.
Caller: Yes, but can I just send you the information? May I have your email please?
Me: Why would you send me the information if I am not interested in it?
Caller: Because I can send it to you, and then you can decide. Can I have your email please?
Me: But I am not interested.
Caller: I can fax it if you prefer? What is your fax number?
Me: I am not interested.
Caller: But you can see the information and then decide if you are interested.
Me: I have already decided. I am not interested.
<Hang up>
